Kavana Mallanna

Kavana Mallanna who is a Computer Science engineer and an IT consultant hails from a family of music, literature and theatre.

 

Her grandfather had his own drama company and worked with prominent celluloid personalities. Her father who is a Kalashree awardee was also a drama artist and her mother is a Kannada writer. Hence her interest and love for theatre and art was natural.

During her childhood days she actively took part in cultural activities - Drama, dance, compering etc. However her growing up years were mostly spent in Chess competitions where she won multiple national medals and state championships. She rekindled her passion for theatre / acting in recent years. She has performed as a protagonist is well renowned plays such as Nimitta (by Sethuram) and Akku (by Vaidehi) which were well received by the audience. She has worked with award winning director and renowned artists. Along with acting, she has taken part in dancing, compering and coordinating cultural activities.
